Discount Calculator
Calculate final price after discount.
How does the discount calculator work?
Enter the original price and the discount percentage. The calculator applies the formula: Final Price = Original Price × (1 − Discount/100). It instantly shows the discounted amount and your savings. Perfect for shopping during sales, comparing deals, or planning promotions — you'll know exactly how much you'll pay and how much you're saving.
How to use the Discount Calculator
Type in the original price (before discount) and the discount percentage (e.g. 20 for 20% off). Click "Calculate" to see the final price and the amount you save. Use it for single items, total baskets, or to compare different discount offers.
Example calculation
An item costs $100 with a 20% discount. The calculator shows a final price of $80 and savings of $20. If the discount is 50%, the final price is $50 and you save $50. It's a quick way to understand any sale tag.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does this calculator handle multiple discounts?
This version calculates a single percentage discount. For stacked or successive discounts (e.g. 20% then an extra 10%), calculate each step separately. The result is not the same as adding the percentages together.
Can I use this for tax-inclusive prices?
Yes, but tax is not calculated separately. If the original price includes tax, the discount is applied to the gross amount. For precise tax handling, use a dedicated tax calculator.
